Electromagnetic emission method is an advanced technology to predict coal and gas outburst, rock burst and other dynamic disasters of coal and rock. It can realize non-contact, non-destructive and real-time monitoring, but its accuracy and efficiency need to be improved. Through sorting out the research of domestic and foreign experts and scholars, this paper analyzes and summarizes the research progress of coal and rock crushing electromagnetic radiation prediction technology from the research object of electromagnetic radiation, generation mechanism, spectrum characteristics and other aspects in the form of review. After analysis and discussion, it is found that the electromagnetic radiation method still has shortcomings in the generation mechanism, low-frequency signal, spectrum characteristics and quantitative analysis of influencing factors, and the correlation between the changes of electromagnetic radiation in the laboratory scale and the engineering scale. The future research direction of electromagnetic emission technology is proposed.
