Creación de un escáner aéreo para la digitalización de material bibliográfico patrimonial
Abstract
La conservación de material bibliográfico patrimonial involucra, en muchos casos, el cambio de soporte para lograr mantener la consulta de la información sin comprometer la integridad física de los documentos. La digitalización de este material surge como una solución, pero requiere de una inversión alta para la adquisición de equipo especializado que permita realizar el proceso sin dañar los documentos. El presente artículo muestra el diseño de un prototipo de escáner aéreo para la digitalización de material bibliográfico patrimonial con una adaptación de la metodología de Design Thinking. El prototipo se construyó y se validó con diferentes documentos patrimoniales de la Sala de Libros Antiguos y Colecciones Especiales de la Biblioteca Joaquín García Monge de la Universidad Nacional (Costa Rica). Como resultado, se liberaron los planos para que cualquier unidad de información pueda replicar la construcción del prototipo y contar con su propio escáner aéreo a un precio más asequible = The conservation of heritage bibliographic material involves, in many cases, the change of support to maintain the consultation of the information without compromising the physical integrity of the documents. The digitization of this material emerges as a solution, but it requires a high investment to acquire specialized equipment that allows the process to be carried out without damaging the documents. This article shows the design of an aerial scanner prototype for the digitization of heritage bibliographic material with an adaptation of the Design Thinking methodology. The prototype was built and validated with different heritage documents from the Room of Ancient Books and Special Collections of the Joaquín García Monge Library of the National University (Costa Rica). As a result, the plans were released so that any information unit can replicate the construction of the prototype and have its own aerial scanner at a more affordable price.
