Median arcuate ligament syndrome is an uncommon condition resulting from compression of the celiac artery by median arcuate ligament. It is commonly encountered in young adults and presents with symptoms such as abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting after meals and subsequent weight loss. Although various radiological modalities can be utilized for diagnosis, multidetector computed tomography of the abdomen is generally preferred. Definitive treatment of median arcuate ligament syndrome is surgery. In this case report we present laparoscopic surgical procedure performed at our centre on a patient afflicted with this rare condition as well as highlight the need for long term follow-up in patients with median arcuate ligament syndrome.
