HISTOLOGICAL AND PLANIMETRIC CHARACTERISTIC OF SKIN REGENERATION OF YOUNG RATS UNDER THE CHRONIC HYPERGLYCEMIA

Diabetes is one of the most common chronic condition in the world. In recent times, the diabetes has begun to be studied as a social issue that is become more and more relevant. The wound healing could be a time consuming, recurrent and difficult to treat process under the chronic hyperglycemia. Therefore, the study of regenerative capacity of the skin under the chronic hyperglycemia is relevant. Thus, the purpose of our research was to study the histological and planimetric features of the skin reparative regeneration of young rats under the chronic hyperglycemia. The study was conducted on 70 white laboratory young rats: a control group, a group of animals with chronic hyperglycemia of the body, and a control group of hyperglycemia. The chronic hyperglycemia was simulated by the single intraperitoneal administration of streptozotocin (40 mg/kg) and nicotinic acid (1 mg/kg). The wound was formed by cutting out a piece of skin in the interscapular region. The studies were performed on the 7, 14 and 21 days after trauma. The sections were stained with hematoxylin-eosin. The light microscopy was performed using an Olympus BH-2 microscope (Japan), the planimetric analysis was performed using the morphometric program “Digimizer”. The statistical analysis was performed using the SPSS-17 software package. It has been found that the process of the skin regeneration of young rats with the chronic hyperglycemia is of the unfinished character and reveals as a violation of the epithelialization process, keratinization and reorganization of connective tissue into a full-fledged dermis. The main features of the process of post-traumatic skin regeneration of rats with chronic hyperglycemia are the prolongation of the reduction of wound area at the late study stages. On the 21 day of the experiment, the area of the non-healing wound in the young rats with the chronic hyperglycemia was equal to (50.43 ± 12.85) mm2 , which is 65.43 times more than the reference value (р = 0,0001). The wound healing rate in the rats with the chronic hyperglycemia was lower on the first days with the growth dynamics by the end of the study
