The importance of geodetic engineering in the engineering-technical fields

Abstract

The paper deals with the presentation of the valid legal role of geodetic activity in the field of civil engineering in the Republic of Serbia. Permanent diminution of the importance and role of the geodetic profession in practice is pointed out, which can lead to serious consequences and significant material damage to society and the individual. While under previous regulations nothing could be built and put into operation without control by the geodetic profession, with a number of new regulations this phase is neglected or skipped, often relying on visual control. Geodetic control was one of the most important stages without which work could not be started, continued or work permit issued. The assumption is that the motive for this situation lies in the pervasive need to accelerate technological construction procedures with the aim of reaching unrealistic deadlines and creating the idea of greater efficiency of work, contrary to the quality and safety of construction, will be turned out very quickly.
