Comparative analysis of euphemistic headlines newspaper «The New York Times» and «The Moscow Times»: principles and results of the study (2008-2010 gg.)
Abstract
This article covers the results of the comparative research of euphemized headlines in two English language newspapers: The New York Times and The Moscow Times. The authors outline a number of thematic groups with the highest concentration of euphemisms, determine the rate of euphemized and non-euphemized headlines and provide a thorough analysis using multiple examples. The research is cross-cultural and is based on the latest practical material.
