With the rise and continuous development of new energy sources, photovoltaic (PV) power generation and grid integration have become increasingly critical in the energy industry. In order to select the appropriate inverter control schemes during the process of PV power generation and grid integration, this paper deeply discusses and analyzes the commonly seen Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) control strategies. As well as firstly it systematically explains the basic principles of PV inverters and PID control technology. Secondly, this paper explores the principles and structures of several optimized PID control strategies, and conducts an in-depth discussion and analysis of the applicable scenarios of various schemes. In addition, it comprehensively evaluates the performance of PID control in PV inverters. Finally, it deeply discusses and looks forward to the future development direction of PID control in the field of PV inverters, and the research aiming to provide inspiration and guidance for researchers in this field.
