GEOPOLITICAL DIMENSION OF RUSSIAN CIVILIZATION

Abstract

The aim of the work. This article is devoted to the topical issue considering identity of Russian civilization in the face of geopolitical downfall and ethnical outbreak. The subject of analysis is the civilizational status of modern Russian Federation. The authors deal with the geopolitical subjectivity of Russian civilization within the context of the two competing integrative projects – Eurasian and Euro-Atlantic. The method or the methodology of work performance. The framework of the research is based on analytical, axiological, cultural and historical methods as well as fundamentals of civilizational approach. The results of research. The civilizational status of Russian Federation in the context of classical and postmodern geopolitical theory is defined in the given article. Its role in the modern Eurasian integrative project as being an alternative to Euro-Atlantic hegemony is verified, not only on account of its spiritually, but as well innovativeness as one of the basic global concepts and technologies generators.
