Abstract
The present essay aims to systematize the knowledge about two concepts and process that emerge empirically in the organizational field: the hybrid organizations and the Economy of Communion (EoC) enterprises. Through descriptive bibliographical research, it was possible to find convergent and divergent aspects between both phenomena. It concludes that if the understanding of a hybrid organization presages the mission and the social and / or environmental action with profit objectives, it can be said that the EoC approach is near to this concept. However, while the characterization as a hybrid organization is external (it can be attributed to any type of organization), in the context of the EoC a company can only be defined as such if there is free adherence of the entrepreneur to the set of principles and values that base the lines of management of this project.
