Il revisionismo democratico. Nitti politico tra guerra e pace
Abstract
The main aim of this article is to re-evaluate, and inform about, the experience of Francesco Saverio Nitti in foreign policy in the years that went from 1919 to 1922 which ended with the advent of fascism. Exponent of a democratic and reformist liberalism, Nitti worked on a peace project based on the immediate revision of the peace treaties as the keystone of the stability of the European peace system. Expressed in the form of political practice during his government experience between 1919 and 1920, this idea was theorized in numerous writings so that, despite the abandonment of politics and the premature exile from Italy in 1924, Nitti became abroad , and above all in the United Kingdom and the United States, an authoritative voice of European liberalism between the two world wars, who in his prolific work addressed not only the themes of European peace but also that of the fate of democracy in the face of the challenges posed by fascisms.
