Abstract
The figure of a nurse in the 18th century is no excellent at all. Manuals offer a closer image to real life allowing an epistemiological flow and a more real concept of her existence. The nurse’s figure is considered and described according to her ability and skillfulness. Care is not yet a profession and is performed mainly by religious communities. The knowledge of theory is simply acquired through an experienced pair. Certain rules and procedures are offered.
