Der optimierte Mensch: Versuch einer posthumanen Taxonomie in Theresa Hannigs Romanen
Abstract
The article analyzes Theresa Hannig’s novels, The Optimizers and The Imperfect, as a creative intervention into discourses of the posthuman. Hannig’s work exposes the different arguments regarding the development of sentient robots and artificial intelligences and negotiates posthuman positions of subjectivity, consciousness transfer, and the rights of personhood for artificial beings. The article presents the evolving concepts of an artificially created posthumanity in the novels and reveals Hannig’s perspective on how to deal with a becoming-machine.
