Deeply disturbed by the expression of a historian: «Historians must speak. Witnesses are the pathetic puppets of memory», Liliana Segre accepted this challenge, to further reflect on the meaning and limit of witnessing. Another survivor echoes her: Ruth Klüger, like her wrapped in the burden of memory, and continually urged to deal with a painful memory, yet continuously present.
