The Effect of Aluminum Waste Ash on the Concrete Compressive Strength

It was observed by several research that aluminum waste grains can preserve the performance of concrete strength when substituted for sand in the concrete mixture. This paper examines the effects of substituting aluminum waste grains for sand in normal concrete. Aluminum waste grains with grade of IV are unsuitable for use as fine aggregates in normal concrete due to their excessive smoothness. The idea of replacing 0%, 10%, 20%, and 30% of sand with aluminum waste grains with equal proportion, and its ability to be permitted to create zone II gradation. According to the results, introducing aluminum waste grains decreases compressive strength. The average concrete compressive strength after 28 days is 26.20 MPa, whereas the average compressive strength of 10%, 20% and 30% aluminum replacing sand are 17.87 MPa, 15.14 MPa, and 15.35 MPa respectively. Hence, the average compressive strength 10%, 20% and 30% aluminum waste replacing sand dropped by of 31.78 %, 42.17 %, and 60.49% respectively.
