Abstract

New Romanian-Italian literature. On Migration from Romania to Italy: Badante per sempre by Ingrid Beatrice Coman and Dalla Romania senza amore by Anca Martinas The aim of the article is a comparative analysis of the phenomenon of migration in the two novels by Italian-language contemporary writers of Romanian descent: Badante per sempre (2015) by Ingrid Beatrice Coman and Dalla Romania senza amore (2009) by Anca Martinas. These works focus on the diffi cult existential situation of Romanian women who decide to leave their homeland in search of new prospects in Italy. The reality of this country is not as positive as they would expect, and their lives change dramatically, bringing dilemmas, disappointments, and even death. We are dealing with the debunking of the myth of Italy that was widespread in post-communist Romania and presenting it as a new promised land that off ers decent economic conditions and happiness to immigrants.
