The ‘novel’ complex material KBiMn2O5 described in the paper “Structural, morphological, dielectric, and electrical characteristics of a brownmillerite material for electronic devices: KBiMn2O5” written by Debasish Panda, Sudhansu Sekhar Hota & R. N. P. Choudhary (Chemical Physics Impact 8 (2024) 100540), does not exist at all. The studied sample was mainly the sillenite Bi24Mn2O40 instead of brownmillerite KBiMn2O5. The comments present the erroneous approach to the processing of diffraction data. Thus, the data from subsequent experiments are without scientific value as measured on a mixture of at least two phases.
