L’opéra jeune public. Stratégies compositionnelles pour transformer l’enfant-spectateur en mélomane
Abstract
In the 1980s, opera houses began commissioning contemporary composers for operas for young audiences. Faced with this kind of audience, which is often idealised (by childhood memories and commonplaces), the creators began to question the reception of their work. In order to ensure that a child’s first impression of the lyrical genre be a positive one, they all, without exception, develop seduction strategies. However, the children’s reactions collected in this study show that they are not so easy to seduce.
