Mineral waters and therapeutic muds from Homorod Baths (Braşov). Characteristics and exploitation.

Abstract

The work aims to present some physico-chemical characteristics of mineral waters and muds from Homorod Baths, a succinct history of knowing and capitalizing on these resources and the possibilities for future development. It is based on the synthesis of information from specialized scientific papers (including cartographic documents), archive documents, as well as on the performance of own measurements on physical-chemical parameters (2011-2016) and interviews with locals and local authorities. On the basis of observations and field investigations, there are also presented aspects of the arrangements that existed for the purpose of exploiting the terapeutical factors and the present state of the Homorod Baths.
