The influence of structural parameters on the thermal resistance of electrical heat sinks with a circular heating area is analyzed using a numerical model experimentally verified. The correlation of the dimensionless thermal resistance regarding to working parameters and other geometric parameters is obtained. The correlation not only can reveal various kinds of the trends of thermal resistance changes with the parameters but also can directly predict the thermal resistance. The results provide a theoretical basis for designing this type of heat sink.
