The aim of the study was to study the peculiarities of metabolic disturbances in intercourse with the imbalance of adipocytokines in patients with comorbid flow of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM). In the study, 87 patients with NAFLD and type 2 diabetes (subcomputed) participated: the first group consisted of 45 patients with combined course of NAFLD and type 2 diabetes, and the second group consisted of 42 patients with NAFLD. The control group (n = 20) was maximally comparable in age and sex to the patients being examined. The average age of the patients was 49.4 ± 5.6 years. The body mass index in patients with combined course of NAFLD and type 2 diabetes was 1.3 times higher than that of patients with NAFLD (p<0.05). Disorders of lipid and carbohydrate metabolism were significantly more frequent in patients with concomitant course of the disease, in comparison with patients of the 2nd group (p<0.05). Patients of the 1 st group had a significant increase in the indices of systemic inflammation and adipokine retinol-binding protein-4 (RBP-4) (p<0.05), as well as a significant decrease in serum ometin compared with patients in group 2 and control group (p<0.05). Decrease in the level of omentin and increase in serum level of RBP-4 in patients with NAFLD and type 2 diabetes should be considered as a biomarker for the formation of a metabolic syndrome and activation of the processes of fibrogenesis in the liver.
