Evaluation and Comparison of the Websites Status of Islamic World Countries and Top World Countries

Objective: The aim of the present research is to evaluate top Islamic countries’ websites based on webometric indicators, visibility and accessibility in order to compare them with top world countries. Methodology/Approach: The present study is a Survey with a webometric approach. Identification of the websites repository was accomplised using a webometric ranking. Alexa and Wave tools were used to determin the visibility and accessibility of the websites. Findings: Top Islamic world countries’ websites’ repository compared to top world countries showed considerably weaker performance according to size indicators, visibility, rich files, scholar, traffic rank and inlink. There was no meaningful difference in accessibility and time loading indicators. Conclusion: In order to improve their repository and world rank, Islamic world countries have to improve their size indicators, visibility, rich files, scholar, traffic rank and inlink.
