Risk on design & installation of drag embedment anchor (DEA) for floating offshore wind turbine (FOWT)
Abstract
ABSTRACTIn this paper, the risks related to the selection, design, and installation of drag embedment anchors for floating offshore wind turbine systems were investigated and reviewed. For the anchor design, the contents related to the applied load angle were summarized. When the mooring line is damaged, the change of the applied load angle for the anchor increases the likelihood of subsequent mooring line damage. The uplift angle of the mooring line around seabed were also reviewed. During mooring anchors installation, the simultaneous installation of multiple anchors needs to be carefully checked in advance. The results of inspection after drag anchor installation are still uncertain. In particular, it was pointed out that a sufficient level of ship specifications should be secured as the anchor installation ships.
