La France et la Grèce : une vision française des relations franco‑grecques à l’épreuve de l’intégration européenne, 1981‑1989
Abstract
Since 1981, France slowly has lost her influence in Greece. She has also lost the positive image. That ascertainment has been treated very little by French historiography. It's to fill, in part, this lack, that we study the Franco‑Greek relations in this period. At the moment when these relations are distorted, paradoxically appear two socialist governments in France and in Greece, fact that makes us question this ‘natural’ rapprochement. Through these analyzes we notice that France and Greece have difficult diplomatic relations, even though, in the same time, Greece is struggling to integrate into the European Economic Community, which may be a factor responsible for these difficulties. This analysis wants also to proof that personals relations between states leaders are very important in the deepness of the interstate relations. Just put into perspective that Andreas Papandreou had with François Mitterrand fewer relations than their predecessors.
