Abstract:: The word elite refers to the minority at the top which in a society or a certain domain should hold upright values and stands as role model to the majority. Elites in principles are those from whom the majority can get inspiration and work for better societies. Paradoxically, the top minority in Okey Ndibe’s Arrows of Rain, in which a post-colonial African society is represented, behaves black-heartedly and leave the reader with no other choice than questioning its elitism. In the light of the postcolonial and the Marxist theoretical approaches, this article underscores the deviant and devilish behavior of the elites in Arrows of Rain as they have become a nuisance and a nightmare to people they are supposed to guide and protect. Keywords: elites, minority, devilish, delinquency, Africa.
