Dental treatment in patients with syndromes is often difficult and general anesthesia is needed most of the time. Dandy-Walker Syndrome with Fontan physiology patients is one of these patient groups that need extra attention. Especially due to abnormal facial (cleft lip and/or palate) and head features (hydrocephalus) of these patients result in intracranial pressure increases, epilepsy and an increase of difficult intubation, possibility. In addition, extra physiological disturbances brought by the Fontan physiology and cardiovascular anomaly may cause sudden decreases in saturation or vital arrhythmias. However, with an accurate and complete preparation, general anesthesia can be safely performed in this patient group as well.
