Organizational Aspects of Implementation of RDA in Germany, Austria and German-Speaking Switzerland

Abstract

The article examines the experience of implementing international library standards, in particular the RDA cataloging standard, in libraries in Germany, Austria and German-speaking Switzerland. The results of the transition to the new cataloging rules according to the developed multilevel system are summarized and national peculiarities of implementation of RDA are noted. The prospects of using the library-information space developed by the libraries of the German-speaking countries in the field of the regulation of the standards of the library and information industry in accordance with international standards in the processes of transformation and further intensive development of the library business of Ukraine for integration, mediation and exchange of information in the modern global professional space are considered.
