Background. Residual unbalance is one of key quality characteristics for rotating parts (rotors). This value determines the upper allowable limit for the rotor rotational speed in specific supports. The time required fulfilling rotor balancing operation for unbalance determination and elimination is relevant due to mass production of high-precision parts. The research objective is to enhance measurement quality of rotor unbalance parameters during spherical circular motion through novel conceptual design of an oscillatory system and a kinematic scheme to drive thereof for the balancing device. Materials and methods. To assess the rationality of kinematic schemes, the effect of vibrations in oscillatory system structures on the measurement results has been considered. The behavior of models has been studied in statics and dynamics. The influence of structural rigidities on the overall result of useful unbalance signal measurement has been examined. Results and conclusions. An analysis of novel technical means for measuring unbalance during spherical circular motion has been made. An evolution of oscillatory systems and drive structures for balancing devices has been shown. A transition from moving to stationary measurement reference frames for these types of balancing devices has been substantiated. A kinematic diagram for such balancing device layout has been developed and presented. An approach to the development of elastic elements and flexible joints of oscillatory systems for balancing devices during spherical circular motion has been introduced. Further research directions have been identified.
