The study explores the impact mechanism of compassion. It combines the two research models, the Social Cognitive Career Theory and The Theory of Planned Behavior, into practice to explore students’ intention to start a social entrepreneurship. The survey data collection involved 339 students between the ages of 18 and 25 residing in Ho Chi Minh City. To assess the fit with the proposed model, Smart PLS 4.0 software was used. The study also investigated the regulatory role of extrinsic reward and connectivity. Through analysis of research results, a direct and indirect relationship has been identified between the element of compassion and the intention to start a social business. In addition, the study highlights the mediating and regulatory role of the factors involved in this relationship when affecting the formation of social entrepreneurship intentions. Research shows that businesses and governments must understand the importance of the factors that shape the intention to start social entrepreneurship in today’s economy. This understanding will help them build a strategy to promote social enterprises in the country and move towards a more sustainable and comprehensive development in the future.
