The relationshipsbetween science andpoetryareusuallyexaminedfrom threeperspectives:the lexicon(the use ofscientific vocabularyin poems), the topicalpoint of view (the presence of scientificmotifs) and the subjective/authorialbias (the consideration that the factof the authorbeinga scientistconfers scientificity to his literary texts). This article aimsto deviate fromthe examination of theparallelsbetween poetry and science to concentrateon the study ofthe intersections: in particular, the waysin which science and poetry deal with a) the process ofsymbolization, b) the development of proceduresand c) the idea ofcreative disorder. The writingof the poetand chemist Angel Terron will be thetesting ground for these investigations.
