The objective was to present a program for the development of specific labor competencies, for the textile and clothing sector of the Pelileo canton, seeking through this, to improve the factors that generate the deficient development of activities that result in a slow growth of the organizations within the economy. Through a non-experimental descriptive methodology. 62% of the individuals surveyed state that they do not carry out skills development programs in their companies, 89% would like their companies to run these programs, 95% of them say that developing specific skills brings benefits for their job, and 100% consider that competencies should be updated to improve job performance. Developing, updating, specific job skills in economic sectors, especially in the textile and clothing segment, is essential for the internationalization of this sector.
