This paper aims to discuss the curriculum role in the indigenous school education in Pernambuco. For this, we aim to analyze the Political-pedagogical Project of Pankararu. We observed that the traditional knowledge was subordinated by the State agency in charge of indigenous school education in the construction process of the indigenous intercultural curriculum in Pernambuco. However, indigenous people, especially Pankararu, keep resisting the attempts of the State agency not to recognize their particularities. They promote intercultural and differentiated experiences and appropriating the Political-pedagogical Project by adapting it to their specificities and demands.
