Lionello Puppi for Verona
Abstract
The contribution investigates the activity of the recently deceased Lionello Puppi, an art and architecture historian who wrote numerous books and articles on Veronese art history. By examining Puppi’s special interest in the works of Michele Sanmicheli and Paolo Farinati, this article analyses his research methodology and his influence on scholars whose studies focus on Veronese art and architecture. Finally, a short chapter on Palladio illustrates some images realised by Puppi which attest to his interest in the villa of Miega.
