Les enjeux multiples de l’architecture religieuse du second XIXe siècle en France : un essai de litanies

Abstract

This text tries to outline some research trails for the study of the second half nineteen century religious architecture, to give a sort of vade-mecum, of analysis schedule before starting a building monograph or taking up a synthesis. Religious architecture seeming to be the point of encounter of numerous factors (as any architecture, of course, but perhaps more because of its transcendence) this text tries to draw up a list of those factors, each one considered as a stake: architectural, spiritual, politic, philosophical or societal stake.
