Originally a unitary territory, Moldavia was divided by annexations that generated linguistic policies on both sides of the borders. This leading work discusses recent reforms and arrangements about the language depending on ideological positions and also gives a perspective view of several authors of this volum, born in the ancient Moldavia or in the Moldavian Soviet republic which, in turn, since 1991, are confronted with questions created by the new independence.
