The objective of this research is to evaluate the global pandemic due to the impact of COVID 19 on the profitability and performance of the Peruvian banking system, period July 2019 − June 2020. The Data Panel model has been applied to verify profitability twice with ROA and ROE as dependent variables. The independent variables CARit, LDRit and NIMAit have a statistically significant positive impact on ROAit and ROEit; and the variable OEFMit has a statistically significant negative impact on ROAit and ROEit. The ROAit of most banks has fallen since the 2% and 2.5% converged to a median of 1.8% in June 2020. Relative to ROEit, most banks have converged to a range between 10% and 15% in June 2020.
