This article aims at studying how the economy’s shift into a post-Fordist regime of production and consumption impacted and transformed cultural creations over the past forty years, tracking down these transformations at all levels of communication, at the junction of poetic, aesthetic and economic issues. After underlining the transformations of serial practices from the Fordist to the post-Fordist era, we will show the evolution of the narratives’s perimeter (with the rise of worlds-fiction and of narratives being part of brands’ identity), the author’s figure (shifting towards the architext and the design of franchises and a programming of a series of distinctive auctorialities) and the reception of fiction (through a programming of critical approaches, and a reconfiguration of aesthetic vocabulary).
