Rabbit's optic nerve intracranial traumatic damage modelling

Abstract

An original model of intracranial optic nerve complete transaction is given. The completeness of transection, possibility of synthetic macroporous hydrogel immediate implantation into the nerve injury zone were studied. The alternative neurosurgical accesses for optic nerve transection were analyzed taking into account animals’ mortality in early postoperative period.
