REKATALOGIZATION OF THE SERIAL AND PROCEEDING EDITIONS: TECHNOLOGY AND THE ORGANIZATION OF CARRYING OUT IN THE SCIENTIFIC LIBRARY OF THE ODESSA I. I. MECHNIKOV NATIONAL UNIVERSITY
Abstract
The purpose of our article is the description of the process of a rekatalogization of the serial and proceeding editions in the Scientific Library of the Odessa I. I. Mechnikov National University. Organizing the library begins during the period of Novorossiysky University - in the second half of the 19th century, the rekatalogization of funds passes in the second half of the 20th century at the Odessa University and becomes more active since the beginning of the 2000th years. The subjects of our research are funds of library. The purpose of the study is to describe the main problems and the principles in the course of a rekatalogization. The main finding of the work the identification of mistakes at arrangement of cards in the catalog if works were incorrectly were reflected in the catalog of book editions, and helps with disclosure of funds of library. The research findings have practical value for library workers for professional development in processes of a rekatalogization and bibliographic search.
