The countryside and rural settlement has retained its importance from the Antiquity to the present and there is an important connection between the development of the countryside and the wealth of the city. Urban centers need production; it has led to the development of settlements in rural areas, which can be defined as chora. Rough Cilicia is the most researched area of the relationship between rural and urban in Anatolia. The opinions put forward on the dating of the farm settlements in Olba, a city in Rough Cilicia (Cilicia Trachea), are discussed in this study. The settlements that are referred to as the farm settlement with Veteran Inscriptions, the farm settlement situated on the ridges of Düğürlük, and the settlement on the Keşlitürkmenli Road are within the scope of the study. In this regard, each unit that consists of the trio, agricultural land-agricultural house-tomb, which composes the farm settlements are defined, and their dating is particularly emphasized, because the opinions presented for the dating of the aforesaid farm settlements are notably open to improvement. Routes and tombs provide new information on the dating of the Olba farm settlements. In this context, the Olba farm settlements must have commenced to be built after 75-76 CE when the roads were started to be built, and before the end of the 2nd century CE when the tombs were built. Consequently, the Olba farm settlements must have started to spring to life for the first time between the end of the 1st century CE and the middle of the 2nd century CE. The evaluation done with regard to tomb and via provides new criteria not only for the Olba farm settlements but also for the dating of the farm settlements in the Eastern Rough Cilicia Region.
