Traumatismo torácico bilateral: A propósito de 1 caso
Abstract
Se presenta un caso de traumatismo torácico bilateral extenso con tórax batiente, el cual fue tratado con inmovilización de las partes blandas torácicas, con alambres de Steinman pasados de manera caudocefálica, lo que provocó la estabilización de la caja y el mejoramiento rápido de las funciones ventilatorias y se logró la retirada oportuna de la intubación endotraqueal y la eliminación del proceso séptico asociado, lo que por la severidad y la utilización de un sistema de fijación externa, lo hace un caso anecdótico e interesante, y permite inducir la utilización de esta forma de tratamiento en casos similaresA case of extensive bilateral thoracic trauma with beating thorax was presented. The patient was treated with inmobilization of the thoracic soft parts by using Steinman wires that were passed through in a caudocephalic way, which caused the stabilization of the chest and the rapid improvement of the ventilatory functions. It made possible the opportune withdrawal of the endotracheal intubation and the elimination of the associated septic process. This is an anecdotic and interesting case due to its severity and to the utilization of an external fixation system. It allows to induce the application of this treatment in similar cases
