As dimensões culturais no contexto da construção de vocabulários controlados multilíngues1
Abstract
The element of culture, in its multiple dimensions and dialogs, is addressed as an important aspect revealed by the principle of cultural warrant, in the context of multilingual controlled vocabularies and in the perspective of the various methodological approaches for their construction, taking into account the retrieval of information from local users and the differences between cultures. It is concluded that it is essential to consider the cultural dimensions that each term has in every language when constructing multilingual vocabularies, since different users in different cultures have diverse needs and ways to search for information by subject.
