Abstract

Dynamic Localization. Lurija and the Functional System as a Model of an Integrated Mind – The present paper aims at exploring the theory of Alexander R. Lurija in the light of the history of functional localization in neuropsychology. The fundamental purpose is to highlight Lurija’s dialectical overcoming of the dichotomy between the holistic and strictly localizational approaches, and the way in which he used the functional organization of language as a paradigm for understanding the organization of the mind as a whole.
