The paper analyzes the Brazilian presidential elections between 1994 and 2006. The analytical framework is the sociological school of vote decision. According to this aproach, local economic, social and demographic characteristics of voters determine the vote. To test the validity of this we adopted two dependent variables, namely, PSDB and PT vote, and, as independent variables, some characteristics of voters, such as sex, age, education, income, religion, color skin and place of residence. Multivariate analysis were carried out using probability regressions. The results indicate that the models do not have much explanatory or predictive power, however, show an increase of power in the 2006 elections.
