The article emphasizes the significance of teaching senior school students Joseph Brodsky's Nobel lecture as it gives them an opportunity to “discuss” the importance of literature with the outstanding poet; the author gives a paradigm of questions and tasks to precede the analytical reading of the lecture. The results are discussed in view of encouraging students to shape their values.
