Squares have been the most important places of a city from past to present. In terms of economic and socio-cultural aspects, squares have always been a city image. Trade, collective events, important announcements and demonstrations were held in these areas. Since the Roman period, Italy has given importance to the square phenomenon uninterruptedly, and they have created squares with different architectural designs. Prato Della Valle Square in Padova (Italy) is one of the few square examples in the world with a history of 244 years, elliptical form and 78 sculptures. In this study, the reasons why Prato Della Valle Square, which has remained unchanged for approximately 2.5 centuries, has a geometrical and spatial design that is still accepted today has been examined.
