Based on interview and documentation in Ngino 2 Elementary School, sub-district Semanding, district Tuban, student’s ability to write poetry was till poor, eight students the value reached the criteria, meanwhile sixteen students the value reached under the criteria, so value percentage only got 3,3% classically. The purpose of this research was to increase ability to write poetry for 4 graduates at SDN Ngino II Semanding. The type of this research was Class action esearch with research procedure that consists of four steps: planning, observation, action, reflection. Subject of research was students grade V, having 24 students. The techniques of collecting the data were test and documentation with instruments of test and documentation. The technique of data analysis was calculating the value reached the criteria of each person and making a percentage classically. The result of research was the ability to write poetry of Indonesian Language, checked by data of pre cycle reaches 33,33%, this means from 24 students as many as 8 students the value reached the criteria, meanwhile in the first cycle student’s ability to write poetry reached with 62,5%, this means from 24 students as many as 15 students the value reached the criteria and the ability to write poetry in the second cycle with 83,33%, this means from 24 students as many as 20 students already reached the criteria. The increase obtained in the first cycle and the second cycle were 20,83%. This showed the LIPIRTUP method could improve the ability to write poetry.
