The psychological term Emotional Intelligence released some years ago by Western psychologists, becomes relevant in our day, in trying to explain and correct assessments about the behavior of each person in their individual and social action. This leads us to appreciate the importance of cognition-affect relationship in the full configuration of the personality of any individual, and in turn try to locate its rightful place, and give a more all-encompassing assessment of affective area of each individual, where feelings and emotions play a leading role. It is our intention to approach this controversial and important term of the psychological world from our historical and cultural perspective, underlining the significance of his knowledge in the family and educational environment that may lead to comprehensive and multifaceted formation of the personality of each individual
