The relevance of the research carried out is connected with the attempt of a holistic understanding of the problems of adaptive physical culture and sports in the context of developing and implementing technologies and programs and accompanying the elderly and old people in the context of geragogics (gerontogogics). The purpose of the study is to explore the possibilities and problems of adaptive physical culture and sports in working with older and old people in the context of geragogy. Research methods: a theoretical analysis of the prospects and problems of adaptive physical culture and sports in working with older and older people in the context of ideas about the functions, capabilities and technologies of modern geragogics. The authors consider different theories of aging, highlight the main problems of aging people, make recommendations for working with different types of people in the context of the theories of aging and old age highlighted by these theories. The study conducted allows us to conclude that the problems of adaptive physical culture and sports in working with older and old people are one of the directions of gerontogogics (gerontogogy) or geragogics (geragody). Work in this direction in our country is still at the initial stage. This line of work with older and old people is one of the integrative and interesting. Gerontogogy is an important part of the harmonization of social relations, improvement of the quality of life, economic, moral, psychological, physical and other types of well-being of the population.
