Mémoire intime et mémoire historique dans le film chilien Mon ami Machuca, 2004, d’Andrés Wood
Abstract
Andrés Wood memorialisation in the fiction film “My friend Machuca” (2004) refers to a catholic private school in Santiago de Chile whose pupils live in the rich neighbourhoods of the city. This institution is managed by the priest Gerardo Whelan who experienced the integration of children coming from poor communities. In the narrative, the friendship between two children, ultimately frustrated, represents the metaphor of class conflicts and political struggles and of the consequences of the September 1973 coup d’état.
