SYNTACTIC FEATURES OF THE ENGLISH AND GERMAN LANGUAGE SONG DISCOURSES

Abstract

This article deals with the study of the syntactic features in the English and German lyrics in a comparative aspect. The study was carried out on the material of the lyrics of the groups Queen, Fall Out Boy, Rammstein. The paper introduces the results of a quantitative analysis of the research selection – the ratio of the used expressive language means. Purpose. The article is devoted to the song text as a specific type of text. The subject of the research is the syntactic features of the lyrics. The author aims to identify and compare the language features of the f English and German lyrics of the XX and XIX centuries. Methodology. The basis of the research is the following methods: a theoretical analysis of literary sources, classification, comparison, synthesis, observation, systematization. Results. The results of the work consist in understanding the song text as a special kind of poetic text; in identifying the main language tools used by the authors of the past and the present time at the syntactic level. Practical implications. The results of the research can be applied in the practice of teaching, in developing courses of communication theory, intercultural communication, text stylistics.
